On Sunday, September 17, 2017, Guineans in the DMV area gathered to listen their leadership who presented their annual report from September 2016 to September 2017. A one-year report, which contains the accomplishments, activities and financial information, was presented to the community. As usual, the session started with an opening prayer by the religious leaders. After the opening prayer, the President of the community, Mr. Saloumba Cherif welcomed the community members and the distinguished guests. He presented the program and went on to present the report to his constituents who were really engaged and appreciated the transparency that the bureau has put in place. After the presentation, the audience had the chance to ask many questions that were answered by the bureau leadership and also made some recommendations on how to make things better in the community. Were present at the meeting, members of the General council led by its President, Saliou Diallo and the members of the religious group led by the Chief Imam Elhadj Diaoune. Was also present at the meeting, Fatmata Barrie, an immigration lawyer who has been a great partner of the Guinean community but is also running for a state seat in the Maryland house.
